Our tipi

Aimed more at holidaying couples, the tipi is a delightfully different experience.

Very romantic with low queen size bed upon a stone floor, rugs and low tables - you can watch the shadows of the trees shimmering on the canvas – in sunlight or moonlight – a wonderful way to relax and drift off – or wake up - with the soothing music of the woodland to complete the picture.

Beautiful and elegant in its simplicity - inside, the roof seems to soar above you - and with the roof-flaps open you can watch the sky beyond.

A tipi is much more a real camping experience that will connect you to your surroundings and can bring out the child in any of us.

Ours is a traditional North american plains tipi, 17 poles set in an oval shape and interwinding together to form a cone and then covered with canvas. Flaps open at the top allow air flow and for the viewing of the stars on clear nights.

Set in a sheltered and shady spot on its own terrace, the tipi has no electricity but is equipped with solar lighting and a cool box. Outside you will find a small and well equipped kitchen area, lounging chairs and wooden picnic table and benches. As with the yurt, bedding and towels are provided, all you have to bring is food, clothes and yourselves. Please note that our tipi has no fire and for this reason is only available in the late spring to early autumn: May through to early October.

There are 2 sofa beds inside the tipi if needed for smaller children, but we recommend no more than two adults and two small children maximum.

Please, note that the tipi has a very low door and an adult might have to kneel to get in and out of the tent.
