Louçainha Natural Swimming Pools
We are only 5 min drive (3 km) from Louçainha, a free natural pool safe for children and adults with water supplied by a mountain brook. During the Summer, the swimming pool has lifeguard supervision, and a café/restaurant serving ice-creams and drinks from 10am to 6pm, lunches from Tuesday to Sunday and dinners Saturdays only. Pedra da Ferida’s Waterfall
With access from the nearby town of Espinhal, Pedra da Ferida is a lovely 30 meter high cascade with bathable pools and picnic area.
Fragas de São Simão
Beautiful spot around 40 min drive away, offering swimming opportunities in the clear waters of river Alge amongst huge granite blocks. It has a bar offering drinks, snacks and ice-cream. Nearby, you will find the schist village Casal de São Simão where you can find the restaurant, Varandas do Casal, serving quality regional food.
Mosteiro and Poço Corga
These are two nice river beaches featuring shaded areas and snack-bars by the river Ribeira de Pêra where you can relax and bath in the river’s clear waters. They are both around 40 min drive away.
